Hey, I’m Sam!

Creativity has always been at the heart of who I am. From a young age, I sought out every art and photography class I could find – both in and outside of school – always looking for new ways to express myself. That passion led me to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Iowa State University, where I also got involved with several student organizations that allowed me to grow as both a designer and collaborator.

After building a strong foundation through coursework and an internship with the Des Moines Arts Festival, I began my professional journey as the Creative Coordinator (their fancy way of saying graphic designer) for the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In this role, I create everything from marketing materials to building signage, adapting my approach for a wide range of audiences.

Outside of work, I continue to fuel my creative drive. I’m part of the Purple Haze Magazine team as a volunteer concert photographer and designer, where I’ve taken on a leadership role over the past two years. When I’m not designing or photographing, you can probably find me curled up with a book or hanging out with my golden retriever, Moose.

I’m always looking for opportunities to grow, connect, and bring thoughtful, engaging design to every space I’m part of.
